SoulCentric Breathwork

Discover the healing power of the breath.

In  compassionate space, be gently nurtured to heal,  with patience, kindness, forgiveness, acceptance. Our gold is right there next to the wound, and with heart-centered support you are guided to reclaim your power, and your unique gifts to the world.

Heal from fear, shame, anger, disappointment and trauma in a non-judgmental space. Learn how to find and maintain acceptance and love for yourself. By meeting yourself more fully, with guidance,  your attention to places that are stuck helps them flow once again. Begin to feel your vibrancy, joy and deep authenticity.

Love heals.

Love is the most powerful energy for healing the soul. Reclaim the parts of yourself that were wounded in the past, such as your child self who felt abandoned or unloved, or didn’t deserve, and fragmented a part of yourself. These parts are buried in the deep unconscious, and in your nervous system and emotional responses, and with the breath, we can find them and bring healing and integration.

Unique journey for each person.

SoulCentric BreathworkTM increases your body wisdom awareness to places you are holding energy and unexpressed emotion that you might not even have been aware. Over time, these places become stuck energy, and can contribute to illness, pain and dis-ease, and plain unhappiness. Our thoughts, emotions, neural pathways all contribute to informing the body, and influence its ability to be strong, healthy, resilient, and full of energy. We attract dynamics and people who reflect our unconscious beliefs, often established in our upbringing, and to break free of these we need to become conscious of them and own our choices.

I have worked with many people who have active health conditions, some of them life threatening. While medical support from physicians is crucial, the underlying energy patterns are calling to be seen and healed, and that is what we will work on together, the psychosomatic origins. By shifting your inner dynamic, your body is supported to heal.

This form of breathwork can be titrated for those suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or other diagnosed syndromes.  Some folks have had bad experiences with breathwork in group situations, and I promise this is not the same (there is just you and me, no loud music, and you get to control the pace of your experience.) If you are someone who suffers PTSD or high levels of stress when experiencing new things, we will talk about that and match your pace for integration. There is no rush for an experience. We can unravel the patterns of trauma at a slower, more manageable pace, one that matches your feelings of safety.

SoulCentric BreathworkTM increases our body awareness to recognize where we are stopping ourselves from living fully and being truly authentic. When we open to our deeper truth, our life opens to creative and abundant flow. Somatic practices need repetition to take hold with a new healthy pattern of consciousness. Hence, ten sessions are the recommended duration to experience the benefits of this work.

Wake up.

With SoulCentric BreathworkTM change your energy resonance to match your deeper truth, allowing you to live from a more embodied place. Shift knowing into being. Somatic work is sometimes the missing piece to help people who’ve had years of healing work actually live from the more self-aware place.

All that is required is a willingness to “go there”, and allow gentle support.

Expand into all of who you are and came here to be!

Creative Energy comes through.

When you open with this work, creative energy often wants to be expressed, as part of a natural progression of finding your voice. There are many ways to cultivate this expression and I help you locate what is right for you, be it through playing an instrument, singing, writing, acting, gardening, making art, or painting in one of my SoulCentric PaintingTM classes.

Awareness is the First Step.

Awareness is the first key to change, and that is where we start, by getting to know these places where things aren’t working or flowing, and then lead you into a place of flow, harmony, and alignment.

Gracious Work.

After offering this work for over fifteen years, it has transformed into a more trauma sensitive practice than the one I was originally trained in, and combined with depth psychology has been enriched. The techniques and skills learned, with time and experience, can be applied to your daily living outside of sessions to benefit you with clarity, ease, joy, surrender, acceptance.

If you are someone who holds spiritual beliefs, we will access those in ways that support you. If you are not spiritual or religious, we’ll honor your atheist beliefs and stick to the terms of biology and neuroscience. This work is powerful either way for integrating all aspects of your being.

Could You Benefit from SoulCentric Breathwork?

Do any of these scenarios sound like you?

Are you afraid to make a big change in your life? You aren’t sure it’ll work out, but you aren’t happy and you need to do something. Deep inside is calling for something radical to shift. Be it a job you’re tired of, a relationship that isn’t working, or a general feeling that life must be better somewhere else… however, the shift needs to happen on the inside first. Where ever you end up, and whomever next you end up with, all these same feelings will emerge in time if we don’t turn to face our internal feelings of “I’m not satisfied, I’m not happy, I thought I would be with _____ but I’m not”. Sometimes the external needs to change too, and sometimes it will organically change when you change. When you first navigate your interior spaces to heal the deep longing or dissatisfaction that may be shadowing you, the next step forward becomes a lot more truthful and clear.

Do you feel depleted, and maybe not taking time out to care for yourself? Do you nurture yourself? If you can’t answer that question, you may be someone who grew up taking care of other people’s needs before your own. You may be a child who had to care for your siblings or even your parent, you may be a mother who feels tired and overextended all the time. If you are drawing a blank how to nurture and love yourself, come learn this crucial piece. In order to truly be there for anyone else, with love, grace, and energy, you first have to take care of yourself!

Do you ever feel depressed? Is it ongoing, a lifetime struggle?  Things might get good for awhile, but inevitably something happens, or a general malaise sets in, and do you even contemplate suicide sometimes? Depression is sometimes a sign of deeply repressed feelings that you may never have felt safe to express, perhaps anger, sadness, or overwhelm. Learn how to access these embedded emotions that want to be felt, parts of yourself that want to be heard, loved and accepted, in a safe non-judgmental environment.

Are you anxious, or have panic attacks? Does everything get you worried and nervous?  Using the breath, we gently calm the nervous system and help it to slowly unwind. There may be many different factors leading into anxiety, including possible early trauma that has put your body on high alert. A deep sense of responsibility and control may be another factor. With the breath you can learn to open to a softer, more easy going space inside yourself, learning not to feed the worst case scenarios with negative thinking, taming your mind by learning what you CAN do.

Do you feel valued and your wisdom considered?  If you don’t, you may be hanging out with people you’ve drawn to you to help reflect your shadow back to you. Do you value yourself? One of the aspects of this breathwork is finding your own core inner value and deep love for yourself, which changes everything, including the people you find yourself attracted to, and who are drawn to you.

Are you wondering where your soul mate or life partner is?  If you are wanting a deep relationship(s) and are having trouble locating a truly satisfying one, it could be the way your unconscious is sending mixed messages. Your conscious mind knows what it wants – though it deserves careful scrutiny to see if we are settling. Is your unconscious mind on the same page? Our unconscious is filled with early decisions and beliefs based on experiences when we were young, including what our parental relationship was like. Unless we get to know our belief system – and therefore part of what we manifest – we may instead attract what our shadow needs to bring awareness and healing.

Are you sick or experiencing ailments? Through the breath, you can access energy that has been held onto, sometimes for a lifetime, and clear it out, making more room for healing. Every healing crisis has a gift, of becoming more conscious, to understand yourself more deeply. The path of self-love and acceptance can bring healing to your body. The breath itself super-oxygenates the body and helps detox on the cellular level. People in our culture often are shallow breathers, with insufficient oxygen reaching all parts of our body, especially if there is poor circulation. When these oxygen-poor cells receive an extra boost they can clean house and let go of old toxins, along with toxic energy.

Are you crossing mid-life and wondering what this is all about and why you are here?  Our priorities shift drastically after mid-life, as our own mortality comes into focus. Through the breath you can access what is really important to you, ways you may hold yourself back, what lifestyle might align more fully to your authentic being, a desire for unlived potentials and passions to have expression, acceptance and grief for all that has passed, and sometimes an awareness of existing beyond your body.  Breathwork helps open us to a deeper state, where we can access clarity and knowing from our innate Self. Building a more solid relationship with your Self helps unfold purpose and fulfillment.

Have you had years of therapy, and know a lot about yourself, yet would like to experience more freedom, and have more feelings of openness,  love and deeper connection?  Awareness is the first step – and you’ve got it! Now lets bring all that knowing to the body and live from that place. The intelligence of the body doesn’t reside in the  head. There is a different path for somatic healing, where the deeply held emotions and fears may still need to be released, to make way for shifting the way you feel inside your body. This is the step that will help your mind-soul-body get onto the same page, help you step forward to create from a truly empowered place.

This is by no means a complete list, only a smattering of repeated situations I see again and again. The breath provides a powerful gateway into the Self, into your body’s wisdom, strengthening your intuition and accessing your inner compass – which is quite different from egoic wisdom. You are invited to open to possibility, empowerment, love, and fulfillment in your life.

Private Session Work

Private breathwork sessions are available in person or over online video.  Sessions run 90 mins for breathwork (2 hours also available if you find you need more support around this experiential process). The most effective way for lasting change is to book a ten session series. Depending on your life history, more sessions may be required and ongoing support is available.  Somatic support is about deepening wisdom into the body, and just as patterns get stuck with repetition, they get unraveled with repeated consciousness.

If you find yourself with needing more time to process, unpack, and unwind – that is OK. We all move at different paces and have different degrees of trauma, it is safe to take the time you need for your transformation and healing.  With additional support we find more ways to heal, grow, shine, love… sometimes deep seated patterns take awhile to shift and that is totally normal. Completing homework assignments given will support this process. Life brings us new challenges and opportunities to practice what we learn, and external support is so helpful to the unfolding of our journey.

With breathwork, we will look at your early childhood, birth experience, and even pre-natal experience, which can all have a big impact on the first beliefs you formed about your life and reality, and reverberate in your relationships today. At the end of a breathwork session, I will give you notes from your journey,  to support you with continuing to re-calibrate to your deeper truth somatically.

Please see Working Together for more information on private sessions and to book an appointment.

What do I do to prepare for breathwork?

Its very helpful to get a good night’s rest so you can be really present for the experience. Avoiding alcohol the night before and excessive caffeine and sugar is recommended, as these can affect our body’s chemistry and ability to listen to and detect subtler energies as it numbs us out. Reflecting on what you would like to work on during your session the following day can be helpful for some, you may even wish to set an intention for a medicine dream when you fall asleep that night. We can work dream material at any time during the session, all of your inner material is valid to reflect upon.
